Group lessons are 45 minutes in the saddle, and are $85 upon one of our unicorns. Private lessons are $105 for 40 minutes in the saddle upon one of our unicorns. If you are riding your own horse, group lessons are $65 and private lessons are $85. All prices are inclusive of GST.

Do I need to bring my own helmet and boots?
Yes. Helmet fit is paramount in protecting you against head injuries, and different brands fit different people. We recommend heading to your local tack shop and getting your helmet fitted. Try not to purchase a second hand helmet, as it may have suffered a fall and had it's integrity compromised. Please wear boots with a small heel for riding. Beginner students can wear gumboots, but as you go up the levels, you will require the correct footwear to optimise your safety and position.

How much is grazing and what is included?
Grazing is $75 per week, for basic DIY grazing. This includes tack/equipment storage, float storage and hay storage, access to the arena, safe paddocks with refillable water troughs and daily checks. If you require livery for your horse (i.e extra care and feeding) we will develop a package to suit your schedule.

How do I pay?
Once your application has been accepted, you will be sent an invoice for the term. Terms are typically around 10 x lessons, and this can be paid all in one go, or via a weekly automatic payment. If you join partway through the term, you will only be invoiced for the number of lessons remaining in that term. Invoices for each full term are usually sent out the final week of the prior term.

What if I can't make it to my lesson?
If you let us know prior to the term start that you will be unable to make certain dates, we will build your invoice according to your availability. If you cancel within 1 week on your lesson, we are unable to offer a refund or credit. However, should you give us 1 week’s notice you are unable to attend, your lesson will be credited to the following term.

What if Belmont Farm cancels my lesson?
Sadly, sometimes we may need to cancel your lesson. This could be due to instructor illness or injury, and we've been unable to allocate suitable cover, or sometimes, weather. We aim to ride rain or shine, but have particular health and safety protocols around extreme weather for the safety or riders and horses. This would include high winds, flooding, or thunder and lightening. In these situations we may focus instead on valuable horsemanship skills on the ground, offer a reschedule date, or a credit to the following term’s fees.
