Risk of Injury

Although we have taken every precaution we can to minimise the associated risks, horse riding and handling horses is very much a risk sport.

1a. Please read through our Health and Safety Policy regarding safety etiquette whilst at the farm. It is important, and of the consumer’s responsibility, that all family members or guests accompanying the rider(s) have an understanding of this policy.

1b. Belmont Farm does not hold any liability for rider injury, personal item loss or damage at Belmont Farm.

1c. All riders and guests understand that riding is a risk sport, and have ensured they have effective personal safety equipment to ride and handle horses.

1d. Belmont Farm aims to match each rider appropriately to their mount based on the information the rider has provided us with. Belmont Farm will not be liable for any miscommunication from the rider or guest regarding their experience with horses.

Payment & Cancellation Policy

2.1 All holiday programmes are to be paid for in advance.

2.2. Bookings that have not been paid for in advance will not go ahead, giving up the student’s space in that Holiday Workshop.

2.3 Bookings are non-refundable, as group bookings require considerable advanced planning, and the student must still pay to hold their space in that Holiday Workshop. A refund will be made available to those who have suffered a traumatic family event or an injury or illness preventing their child from taking part.

2.4 Should the Holiday Workshop be cancelled due to flooding or illness by Belmont Farm NZ, a full refund will be provided.

2.5 Rain does not cancel Holiday Workshops, and all students will have the chance to learn regardless of the weather, with the exception of flood risk and sever weather warnings (Met Service defined).
