Riding Lessons for Kids

Our riding lessons aim to create a safe yet fun environment for children to learn all about how to ride, care for and handle ponies.

With private and group lessons available, and great instructors, Belmont Farm offers the perfect introduction to the ‘horsey world.’

FAQs

Group lessons are $85 per lesson (45 minutes), and private lessons are $105 ($40 minutes).
Yes. Belmont Farm does not supply a riding helmet, but they are required to ride at our facility. Get in touch with us if you are unsure where to buy one that meets the current safety standards. For helmets, it’s best not to buy them second hand, in case their structural integrity has been compromised following a fall (you won’t be able to see all damage externally).
We recommend gumboots, or shoes with a small heel for riding, if you don’t have riding boots.
Lessons run during the week after school except Wednesdays, and during the day on Saturdays. We are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Yup, no problem! Please note, this doesn’t mean you ‘pay as you attend’.

We aim to go ahead in rain, but if there is a safety risk due to weather (i.e, storms, hail, thunder and lightening or high winds) we will complete a horse management session instead. These sessions are VITAL in developing young riders.
