Staff Code of Conduct
BFNZ staff are required to be prompt for their lessons start, and notify us if they might be late.
Staff need to practice common sense in a rural environment, i.e. closing gates, acknowledgment and best practice of our Health & Safety Policy.
Staff need to lock up all outbuildings before leaving the yard, if no other team member is present.
Equine welfare is at the forefront of BFNZ best practice, so please adhere to all health plans allocated to each horse. This may include feed, limitations during lessons and strategies around behaviour.
Staff need to exercise proper emotional regulation around animals and others.
Staff need to be mindful that their students idolize them: For this reason, no consumption of alcohol, smoking or vaping is to occur in front of students and their families. The shed is a staff only area.
Staff need to treat all other team members with respect, and encourage a positive work environment, in both written form and in person.
BFNZ staff appreciate that bullying or unkindness is not tolerated at Belmont, in relation to themselves and their students.
All areas used by BFNZ staff need to be kept clean and tidy - please put away any items used.
BFNZ staff need to limit swearing in front of clients.
Tidy presentation is expected, and when possible, BFNZ uniform to be worn for your working hours.
Use of BFNZ horses for recreational purposes whether on or offsite, needs to be agreed in advance.
